Lisa Berry, our NEW-WBC client and Founder of Blended Berries Tea, was the recipient of a complimentary booth for WBC’s Black History Month event “Empowering Black Owned Small Businesses”. A native of South Los Angeles who beat the odds as the first in her family to attend college and start her own business, Lisa juggles her roles as a single mother to a toddler while managing her organic tea business. She may not have been able to participate at our event if not for the kindness of Mr. Dante Hamilton, CEO of IWN Haus, a certified DBE, MBE and BEP business in Chicago, who has generously donated funds to pay for her booth and to produce event materials in an effort to alleviate any financial burden on her. Showcasing her tea on the beautiful booth that was created for her, Lisa said, “ Today felt so good, it uplifted my spirit to be around so much good energy and people wanting to help each other. I made a lot of connections! Y’all made me feel special, really wasn’t expecting everything I received…Dante! Everyone loved my set up, thank you so much! This is beautiful, these are really cool items to have and very professional. You also made sure everything got here in time, thanks for working with me.” Share your own cup of “Positivi-Tea” this Black History Month.
