LOS ANGELES, CA – NEW Community Investments™ (NCI), an organization dedicated to making financial investments that spark economic mobility especially for underserved women, minority and veteran-owned small businesses, is excited to participate in the inaugural Women Empowered Leave Legacies through Trade and Investment (WELLTI) Summit in Dubai, UAE. Organized by the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce and taking place alongside Trade Winds, the U.S. government’s flagship trade mission and business development forum, the WELLTI Summit provides women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs with data, knowledge, contacts, and financing to increase trade.
“The Middle East and Africa are regions of significant growth with immense opportunities for collaboration in investment and development as we build back better through trade,” said U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Marisa Lago, who is leading the U.S. delegation to Dubai. “Our goal at the Department of Commerce is to help American companies, including small and medium sized firms, as well as women and minority-owned enterprises, compete and win globally. The Trade Winds mission and forum are vital components of these efforts.”
Quentin Strode, NEW Community Investments™ (NCI) President and CEO adds, “NCI is honored to be part of the inaugural WELLTI Summit that provides opportunities for women-owned and women-led businesses to connect and access resources for doing business in the Middle East and Africa region. As the financial arm under the umbrella of a nonprofit organization called NEW which is dedicated to sparking economic mobility for all women, NCI would like to bring our economic development expertise to help close the capital access gap especially of underrepresented women and minority-owned businesses in the Middle East and Africa Region.” Kimberly Stotzer, Executive Vice President of NCI presented at WELLTI’s networking event called the “Pop-Up with Public and Private Sector Resources”. Along with officials from the U.S. Trade Development Agency, Export-Import Bank of the United States, UAE CS Officer and other prominent government and private company representatives, Kimberly engaged women business owners and entrepreneurs with important information and resources for capital access solutions.
